“Ecological design is predicated upon place. Each garden, each valley and each region is different. These differences, in the hands of an Earth Steward, can be honored and used toward creative and diverse ends. Each garden is a reflection of the potential of place and intimacy with which the gardener can connect with the needs and latent forces of the land. Earth Wisdom becomes an expanding universe for the seeker, until the garden becomes an Eden where the gardener and the garden exist in true harmony. The world we dream of, sustainable and beautiful, takes shape in the ecological garden.”

Once a disconnected landscape, this 1950s property has undergone a soulful transformation after surviving the Woolsey Fire. Asymmetrical “piano” stairs now link the home to the tennis court, optimizing entertainment spaces and access to upper gardens and lower terraces. A former lawn is now a vibrant courtyard with century-old olive trees and a farm-to-table experience. Brick was replaced with “tea ceremony” tiles and custom stucco, while a custom BBQ, circular deck, orchard, and raised beds bring function and beauty. With 3,000+ plants and thriving wildlife, the restored landscape is alive with energy and harmony.
